“When Nicole Whyte and I started the firm about 13 years ago, the idea was to provide a full-service law firm for Orange County,” said Keith Bremer, a founding partner. “As we diversified, we were able to cross-pollinate into other areas and venues, such as Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego and Arizona.”
And the firm has set significant legal precedents.
In a highly publicized 2006 food-poisoning case in Orange County, Bremer Whyte recovered more than $3.2 million for the client. The case was considered important because the plaintiff was awarded one of the largest judgments ever levied against a California restaurant.
At the other end of Bremer Whyte’s cache of legal expertise is Nicole Whyte, who hailed from South Africa about 20 years ago armed with a law degree and training markedly similar to California’s credential requirements.
Whyte, who has written extensively in the field of family law, is the other founding partner. She said taking on these “extremely emotional” cases are the most rewarding.
“I represent a lot of parents involved in custody disputes,” said the mother of four, whose husband is a managing partner in another law firm. “Any time I can help a parent achieve a custody outcome that is in the best interest of the child, that is significant. As an attorney, I can make a difference, especially in the lives of children.”
