Anaheim International Film Festival, continued ...
"Our company has a rich history of creative storytelling and quality entertainment that makes this a natural fit for us," says Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis. "We look forward to being a part of this landmark festival."
Kanatsiz also notes that such events have seen an uptick in recent years: In 2005, there were fewer than 500 film festivals worldwide. In 2009, there were nearly 4,000.
Among the festival's features: classes and workshops taught by industry professionals, as well as "star-studded" galas. Entries are also currently being accepted across five categories: narrative features, live action and animated shorts, documentaries and student films.
"There is a strong public demand for the culture and sense of community that a film festival offers," finishes Kanatsiz, "and we are pleased to start this new tradition in Anaheim."
