The new store is more than triple the size of the retailer's current space near the koi pond, which it has occupied since it first came to the Newport Beach destination in 2003. It will be among the largest Forever 21 locations in the county, according to the Irvine Co., which owns Fashion Island. “Forever 21 is one of the most successful retail brands in the nation,” says Keith Eyrich, president of Irvine Co. Retail Properties. “Fast fashion is in high demand in the marketplace, and the larger store will be embraced by Fashion Island’s trend-conscious shopper.” The new two-floor shop will feature Italian-inspired designs similar to that of the rest of the center. The store will boast a wide staircase leading up to its entrance with raised planters and three archways, among other elements. Shoppers will also be able to access the retailer through an entrance near the Pacific Court. The destination will offer trendy apparel and accessories for men and women, as well as the brand's lines, such as Twelve by Twelve and Heritage 1981. The current Forever 21 location will remain open until the new store opens late this summer.
