Green Nest of Irvine hatches plan for healthier offices

The company calls for greener, healthier offices to honor Employee Appreciation Day, March 6.

Greennest.com is a Web site founded by Lisa and Ron Beres, certified bau-biologists (building biologists), devoted to creating healthier, eco-friendly homes and offices.

In honor of Employee Appreciation Day 2009, Green Nest is advocating that offices take offices from “the grind to the greened” to advocate health for their employees.

“Don’t wait for Earth Day!” says Lisa Beres, co-founder of Green Nest LLC. “Employee Appreciation Day on March 6 is a great opportunity for employers to create not just green, but healthy work environments that will mutually benefit companies as well as their employees.”

Beres contends that by avoiding green practices, companies lose green to their bottom lines. As a result, reports estimate 69 million workers reported missing days of work due to illness, producing a total of 407 million lost workdays and $48 million in lost economic output.
