Costa Mesa-based surf-skate brand Hurley and popular indie-rock band Weezer next month are kicking off a new fashion and music campaign targeted at kids across the country.

The Rocks You Back to School collaboration launches Sept. 10 at select PacSun stores and includes a Weezer-inspired line of clothing, exclusive access to the band's newest CD release and the chance to win a free concert.

"Certain words come to mind when I think of Weezer ... youth, innovative, creative, inclusive, classic and fresh," said Ryan Hurley, vice president of men's design for the company. "These are the very principles that the Hurley brand was founded on. Weezer's core values parallel Hurley's bloodlines and brand truths. It seemed like a no brainer to join minds and embrace these values together."

The men's and women's collection will include wovens, T-shirts and hoodies designed to capture the "casual and comfortable style of America's indie-rock heroes," according to a statement.

"It was swell working with the good people at Hurley on our first adventure into a clothing line," said Pat Wilson of Weezer. "My favorite piece we've created is the zip-up hoodie – especially for those cool fall nights."

PacSun also will sell exclusive copies of the band's newest album – titled "Hurley" – and will feature nationwide listening parties.

Additionally, those who purchase the Hurley-Weezer products by Oct. 15 at a PacSun location will receive a free download card with additional content – and one individual will receive a lunchtime concert with the band at their high school or college.
