San Diego-based Intercare Insurance Solutions is opening an office in Irvine this summer and has appointed Rob Queen its new senior vice president to support its expansion into Orange County.

"We believe O.C. is an underserved market which would greatly benefit from our value proposition," said spokeswoman Erica Cassel.

Intercare is a provider of insurance brokerage, employee benefits consulting and risk management services. The company, which also operates an office in Houston, plans to add another 20-plus employees to its Irvine office within the next year to support revenue growth, said Cassel.

“Bringing Rob on board to help expand our success in Orange County is a great move for Intercare," said Intercare CEO and President Mike Barone. "Rob has a reputation in the industry as an exceptional consultant and relationship builder."

Moving forward, Queen will be responsible for leading business development efforts in the employee benefit and retirement sectors – two of the company's four services offerings.

“Intercare has a stellar reputation and provides clients with unique solutions to their complex insurance challenges,” said Queen, who brings nearly two decades to the role. “Intercare is at the forefront of the industry and I am proud to be a part of the team.”
