Three Orange County nonprofit organizations will share a quarter-million-dollar grant as part of the inaugural Irvine Health Foundation Award for innovators in health care and safety-net services. The foundation, which first announced the recipients in November, will present the awards on Wednesday evening at an event celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Share Our Selves (SOS) of Costa Mesa was selected to receive the Irvine Health Foundation Prize of $150,000. MOMS Orange County of Santa Ana and Garden Grove's Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County were each selected to receive finalist awards of $50,000 each. The organizations were chosen for their dedication to the community, providing access to important health care services for nearly 100,000 uninsured residents annually.

In addition, the Laguna Niguel-based Health Funders Partnership of Orange County was selected as the recipient of the Irvine Health Foundation Anniversary Award for its collaborative efforts to advance the availability of health care locally.

The organizations honored at tonight’s event are being recognized for their significant impact on the stability and accessibility of health care in Orange County for the underserved community. The Irvine Health Foundation is a private grant-making organization that promotes wellness across the county.

The awards will be distributed at the Hyatt Regency Irvine at 5:30 p.m.
