Wish lists and reviews can be shared with friends, family and other collectors. Additionally, users can connect with fans of the same categories and run reports to get an estimated value of their collections for insurance and coverage claims. The service is free and now available for consumer use at itrackmine.com. The system is interactive and easy to use. Creating a profile page takes just minutes and users can begin building collections immediately. Currently, there are four million items in the iTrackMine database and growing daily. If a desired item is not in the database, users can search everywhere online to find it. Any items found in these searches will be automatically added to the database. iTrackMine isn’t just for managing massive collections, it facilitates sharing of all kinds. A few of the additional features and benefits include: • Reviews • Wish lists • Loaning and borrowing • Linking with other collectors • Social networking • Insurance/inventory reports “The idea came out of frustration,” says iTrackMine president, Dave Eliasberg. “We’re collectors and wanted a better way to track our stuff and share common interests. I’m also sure I’m not alone in having purchased the same item twice because I didn’t know what I had in what format – CD or vinyl, DVD or Blu-ray, PlayStation 2 or 3!” A team was assembled with extensive experience in consumer software and Web development and spent the next two years building iTrackMine. They have been beta testing the service with friends and family since late 2008.
