Irvine-based Kia Motors America's 2011 Sorento, Sedona and Soul models were named among NADAguides' annual list of the Best Car Buys.
The Sorento and Sedona garnered top scores in the SUV and van categories. The Soul urban passenger vehicle finished in the top three in the wagons category, making Kia one of only four automakers to place three or four models across multiple categories on NADAguides’ report.
The honor follows Kia's record back-to-back all-time monthly sales.
"Our design-led transformation has fundamentally changed consumer perception of the Kia brand, and the inclusion of three of our vehicles in NADAguides' annual Best Car Buys report is further validation that Kia's commitment to bringing a comprehensive lineup to consumers that feature a compelling combination of design, performance, safety, fuel economy and value is resonating with more and more new-car shoppers," said Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing and communications for Kia Motors America.
The company's U.S.-built 2011 Sorento has been a standout performer for the company in particular. For the past 16 months, the CUV has been Kia's best-selling vehicle, garnering praise for its fuel economy, low depreciation, competitive price and five-star crash safety rating.
In addition, the Sedona has earned praise for its low starting price, horsepower and standard equipment options. The Soul has been lauded as a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, and was named among Edmunds.com's Best Family Cars for 2010, in addition to other accolades.
"With year-to-date sales up more than 40 percent over 2010, interest in the Kia brand has never been higher as consumers turn to our fresh new products like the Sorento CUV and Soul that not only offer class-leading features but are backed, like the entire Kia lineup, by our industry-leading 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty," said Sprague.
