![]() The Phoenix-based nonprofit health-care organization has launched a systemwide conversion to Masimo's rainbow SET technology, which provides real-time test results for blood components that help clinicians more quickly diagnose and treat patients. The conversion will include the installation of 200 noninvasive hemoglobin monitors and two Patient SafetyNet systems, a remote measurement and wireless notification platform. "The significance of a health system of this size and status standardizing on Masimo rainbow SET technology systemwide ... is huge in terms of demonstrating a care provider's commitment to advancing the practice of health care and patient safety," said Masimo CEO Joe Kiani. Banner Health is among the largest health-care systems of its kind in the country. The organization owns or leases facilities in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada and Wyoming. "The decision to convert our entire hospital system to Masimo technology was driven by a simple initiative: to ensure that every Banner Health hospital provides leading-edge medical care," said John Hensing, executive vice president and chief medical officer of the health-care network. The move shows that Masimo's technology is a "key driver" of medical advancements for health-care facilities across the globe, added Kiani. Founded in 1989, the medical-device manufacturer employs more than 1,500 staffers worldwide and reported revenues of $100.1 million in the second quarter, up nearly 20 percent from the same time in 2009.
