City of San Juan Capistrano receives Spotlight Award

The Regional Center of Orange County honors the city for its work with developmentally disabled adults.

Acknowledging15 years of commitment to the community, the Regional Center of Orange County has awarded the City of San Juan Capistrano for its work with Vocational Visions, a nonprofit organization, in providing disabled adults with job opportunities throughout the city.

Based in Mission Viejo, Vocational Visions began in 1974 and presently serves over 400 individuals through its job placement programs and social services.

Ted Donoho, community representative for the organization, says the Vocational Visions partnership with the City of San Juan Capistrano “has been both a life enriching experience for the men and women with disabilities and a source of pride for the city.”

Vocational Visions currently provides janitorial services for the city’s parks and buildings as well as employees for local business like Ralph’s, Vons, Big Lots, Marshall’s, Silverado Senior Living and the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Program.
