![]() The majority of filings last month were Chapter 7. A total of 1,300 were reported in the period, up 8.3 percent from October 2009. Chapter 13 filings totaled 250 – that number is up 6.8 percent over the same time last year. Chapter 11 bankruptcies, on the other hand, fell 30.8 percent. For the entire seven-county district, which includes Orange, L.A., Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura, a total of 12,092 individuals and businesses filed for bankruptcy in the period, up 15.2 percent from October 2009.
