OCTA, Caltrans kick off $102 million project
Construction will begin Wednesday on the 57 Freeway improvements.

The Orange County Transportation Authority and Caltrans on Wednesday will begin a $102 million project aimed at improving the flow of traffic on the 57 Freeway.
The development includes the addition of a 5-mile northbound lane near Orangethorpe Avenue in Placentia to Lambert Road in Brea. Additionally, on- and off-ramps will be reconfigured to reduce congestion while entering and exiting the highway, among other efforts.
The project – which is slated for completion in 2014 – is the first of two taking place on the 57. Next summer, construction will begin on a 3-mile northbound lane between Katella and Lincoln avenues in Anaheim.
