Paragon Software Group teams up with Toshiba
The partnership seeks to promote the Paragon Alignment Tool.

Irvine-based Paragon Software Group (PSG), a backup and disaster recovery program developer, recently teamed up with Toshiba, a fellow Orange County company, to promote PSG’s Paragon Alignment Tool (PAT). By partnering with Toshiba, PSG hopes to gain profit and growth internally. The new alliance also expands PSG’s current list of partners – including Western Digital, Cisco, and LG Electronics.
PAT is designed to work with Toshiba’s Advanced Format hard disk drives. The system works by checking if a drive is misaligned and properly realigning it again.
The program also functions during power outages or user resets – which can increase the drive’s performance level by almost 300 percent, according to Paragon. Not only is PAT an innovative tool for PSG and Toshiba, but also a way for customers to protect data and increase storage space.
“By partnering with Paragon Software, we can ensure that our customers are able to enjoy the full benefits of Advanced Format drives no matter what operating system or software applications they are using,” said said Joel Hagberg, vice president of Marketing, Storage Device Division for Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc.
PSG is also seeing growth by continuing to add to its 250 employees.
“Since opening our Irvine office 3 years ago, we have experienced dramatic profit and revenue growth. By tapping Orange County’s high-tech talent pool, we have been fortunate to assemble a world class team of professionals,” said Tom Fedro, president of Paragon Software Group.
