![]() OC METRO Publisher and Churm Media CEO Steve Churm presented the honor to Quantum, which develops advanced propulsion systems, energy-storage technologies and alternative-fuel vehicles. "Quantum provides the solutions that OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), governments and commercial organizations need – from concept to production," said Churm. Quantum was among a number of local companies that turned out for the inaugural conference, which highlighted the region's top clean-tech firms and offered forums and networking opportunities to the 300 business professionals, government leaders and investors in attendance. Among the day's offerings: Quantum CFO Brian Olson gave an overview of the alternative energy firm's long-term clean-fuel technologies and its participation in the Fisker Karma vehicle, which is slated to begin regular production early next year. The company developed the much-anticipated luxury automobile's Q-Drive, a fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain. "Whether it's a factory-produced natural-gas pickup truck, a fuel-cell-powered Army vehicle, a transportable hydrogen refueling station or specialty and limited-edition vehicles, their technology leads the way," finished Churm. OC METRO is a proud sponsor of the CleanTech O.C. 2010 Conference and Expo.
