Santa Ana-based SRS Labs' sound technology will now be incorporated into LG Electronics' new line of 3-D notebook computers.

The audio tech firm's Wide 3-D Sound is designed to deliver a complete, highly immersive surround-sound experience with deep, rich bass and clear dialogue. The technology brings to life the subtle nuances buried deep within music and video content. By incorporating the platform into LG's latest product lineup, buyers will be able to enjoy both 2-D and 3-D content in surround sound.

It's an offering that capitalizes on the growing 3-D trend in the computer market, said Allen Gharapetian, vice president of marketing for SRS Labs.

“One of the hottest trends in the PC market this year is 3-D video, and LG has recognized that the 3-D video experience is not complete without an equally compelling, fully immersive audio experience,” said Gharapetian. “With the implementation of (the) SRS Wide 3-D Sound suite, LG’s new line of notebooks deliver powerful, enveloping surround sound from the built-in speakers or over headphones or external speakers, thus, offering consumers a much more compelling entertainment experience when watching movies, listening to music or playing games.”
