Irvine investor and Team Kids Board member Mike Cupps garnered the prize, with the high bid of $6,500. "From a business standpoint, Team Kids is an incredible investment," said Cupps. "All the funds raised by children – 100 percent – are given away. Every dollar I give to Team Kids helps a kid raise another $5 to benefit several other nonprofits." Team Kids provides service programs in elementary schools and the community through partnerships with local public safety agencies and schools. In addition, Dr. Gwen Gross, Irvine Unified School District superintendent, received the Team Kids Spirit Award for her dedication to supporting youth and helping them make a positive impact in their community. “It’s all about the kids,” said Julie Hudash, Team Kids founder and CEO. “The Imagine fundraiser honors our nine years of innovative community and business partnerships, and invites us to imagine what is possible when we see the needs of others through the eyes of a child.” Related headlines Balboa Bay's 1221 Club names scholarship winners OCTANe@UCI earns Engagement Award OC METRO, May issue: 'CHOC Follies XIII's "The Wizard of OC"' |
