TechAmerica Orange County last week honored a number of local firms and organizations during its High-Tech Innovation Awards.

The 17th annual event, which was held June 2 at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, recognizes local companies and individuals who are helping to drive innovation in the county.

Groundbreaking use of math, science, and technology by educators and students was also recognized.

“TechAmerica is proud to honor all the finalists and winners of this year’s High-Tech Innovation Awards,” said Bob Brunson, associate director of TechAmerica Orange County. “Many innovative companies make Orange County their base of operation. In addition to driving the local economy, these companies, educators and students are inventing the future with products and services that make life easier, safer and more convenient for everyone.”

Local awardees include Lake Forest-based Micro Media Filtration Inc., which was presented the Harvey Mudd College Green Engineering award, while Irvine-based Teridian Semiconductor took home a certificate of merit in the same category, as well as the Outstanding Technology Company distinction.

Heath Clarke of Irvine’s Local.com was named Outstanding CEO, and Irvine-based Endologix Inc. garnered the Outstanding Company in Medical Technology award. Bruce Hallett, managing director of Miramar Venture Partners in Corona del Mar, received the Gregg Ross Community Service award.
