Irvine-based Toshiba introduces new 7-inch tablet
The new device is the first 7-inch tablet with HD capabilities, ports and premium audio.

Irvine based Toshiba America Information Systems (TAIS), announced the addition of the Thrive 7-inch Tablet to its product line last week.
With a high-resolution seven-inch diagonal touch display, the Thrive 7-inch Tablet offers entertainment-optimized features in a device which weighs less than a pound and is designed to fit in the palm of the hand.
“This is a seven-inch tablet done right,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “The Thrive 7-inch Tablet is the first seven-inch tablet in the U.S. market to offer a true HD display that when combined with the selection of ports, premium audio, and a better, more robust Android experience make it a great choice for on-the-go consumers looking for a no-compromise tablet.”
The new Tablet incorporates Toshiba’s Adaptive Display and Resolution+ video enhancement technologies. It includes stereo speakers with sound enhancement technologies from Toshiba and SRS Labs to deliver richer audio in music and movies. It seeks a more natural sound and enhanced clarity.
The Thrive 7-inch Tablet will be available in December at major US retailers, e-tailers and at ToshibaDirect.com.
