True Food Kitchen, a Phoenix-based restaurant concept that focuses on healthful dining, will open its first California restaurant this summer at Fashion Island.

The eatery was developed by Fox Restaurant Concepts – a privately held firm that owns a number of boutique stores throughout Arizona, Kansas, Texas and Colorado – and wellness author Dr. Andrew Weil.

And the upscale retail center in Newport Beach is an ideal spot for the restaurant, according to company CEO and President Sam Fox.

“True Food is unlike any restaurant in the nation. Our philosophy celebrates high-quality locally sourced ingredients to create a unique menu that tastes great while nourishing mind, body and spirit," he says. "We believe Fashion Island – with its discerning and health-conscious customers – is the perfect place for us to expand.”
