UC Irvine Extension is holding the first Civil Rights Litigation Conference on the West coast on Sept. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on UCI’s campus.
The institution says the conference will bring together outstanding judges, lawyers and academics to discuss the cutting edge issues affecting civil rights today. According to the extension, civil rights lawsuits often present a challenge for municipal lawyers, private practitioners and litigators who try cases in the dynamic area.
The conference will aim to provide an education platform through keynote speaker Erwin Chemerinsky, founding dean of the University of California’s Irvine School of law. In addition to Chemerinksy, Sheldon Nahmod, an expert of constitutional law from Chicago-Kent College of Law Illiniois Institute of Technology will also speak to attendants.
