UC Irvine Extension is now offering a web design and development certificate program aimed at providing students with the skills they need to implement and administer efficient and successful websites. In addition, students seeking this certificate have the option to take either the Web Development track or the Web Design track based on their specific area of interest.

“The new web design and development certificate program reflects UC Irvine Extension’s commitment to empowering the information technology leaders of tomorrow by offering the most cutting edge learning experiences of today.” said Melanie Mitchell, acting director of management, marketing and business programs at UC Irvine Extension.

Previously a specialized studies course, the certificate program was expanded to include two new study options. The Web Development track is ideal for students seeking to become professional web developers or those who show interest in the functioning aspects of websites and web programming. The Web Design track is intended for those who are interested in entering the design field and want to be involved in the look and layout aspects of websites.

“With the growing trend of moving beyond first generation HTML-based web pages, participants will become educated on the latest interactive, state-of-the-art, web-based applications to support the demands of tomorrow’s e-business processes,” concluded Mitchell.
