Organizers are ramping up for Vanguard University's Environmental Sustainability Conference, set for Friday at the school's Costa Mesa campus. Hosted by Vanguard's Students in Free Enterprise chapter, the third annual event seeks to educate local business professionals, students and residents about the effects their choices have on the environment.
The conference will include various workshops, lectures, an exhibitor fair with local companies and organizations, and keynote speaker Shaheen Sadeghi, founder and CEO of Lab Holding LLC. Breakout speakers include Derek Sabori, director of sustainability and corporate social responsibility at Volcom; Martin Diedrich, founder of Diedrich Coffee and Kean Coffee; Deep Patel, founder of gogreensolar.com; and Craig Shields, founder of 2GreenEnergy, among others.
Workshops on sustainable living habits also will be offered, with “hands-on” learning opportunities. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with a number of different companies and organizations dedicated to green practices. A “low-carbon” lunch from Bon Appétit will be provided.
The conference will take place from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. at 55 Fair Drive. For more information, visit greenconf.vusife.org.
